September 8, 2014 Kindergarten classrooms have come to library at least twice by now. The developmental stages that these learners progress through in a school year is tremendous! They come to the library not knowing any library routine and by the time they leave here in June, they are confident, book finding, opinionated (about books and life in general), learners ready to move onto first grade. Those confident behaviors in the library begin with a BOOK HUNT. I encourage these young students to take reading risks, to try a new book they've never seen before, to give a book a chance. When these learners find that there are compelling stories in the world in addition to Disney princess books, or Ninjago, or superheroes, a whole new world opens up to them and they find a new layer to their learning and reading behaviors they never knew existed before. |

Blending literature, technology, face to face instruction, and independent study is how she builds up the students in her school to become life long learners. Archives
